홍익대학교 시각디자인과를 졸업하고 에이전시 그래픽 디자이너로 일했다. 2007년 프리랜서로 독립한 뒤 시각 예술가이자 일러스트레이터로 일해왔다. 영국 AOI가 주관하는 월드 일러스트레이션 어워즈에서 북카테고리 전문가상과 전 부문 최고상을 수상했다. 60여 권의 책 표지 그림을 담당했고, 직접 쓰고 그린 《산책》은 7개 국어로 출간됐다. 출판 미술을 비롯한 시각 예술 분야에서 국내외 여러 클라이언트와 협업했다. 종이 위에 건식재료로 그린 이미지를 디지털 드로잉과 결합하는 방식으로 작업해 왔고, 최근에는 디지털 프로세싱을 배제한 전통 매체 기반 작업에 집중하고 있다.
Jungho Lee is a Korean visual artist and illustrator based in Seoul. After studying Visual Communication Design at Hongik University, he worked as a graphic designer before establishing his independent practice in 2007.
He was named Overall Professional Winner at the World Illustration Awards, presented by the Association of Illustrators. He has created cover illustrations for more than sixty books, and Promenade, which he wrote and illustrated, has been published in seven languages. His work spans publishing and the broader field of visual arts, in collaboration with international clients.
His practice combines dry media on paper with digital drawing, and has recently shifted toward traditional, non-digital media.
